Hi, I’m Collin Townsend, founder of CJT Consulting LLC, a food business consulting firm committed to helping culinary entrepreneurs bring their visions to life—and keep them thriving.
My journey began at the Culinary Institute of America, where I developed a strong foundation in culinary arts and kitchen operations. I then spent nearly a decade immersed in fine dining kitchens across New York City, where I gained firsthand experience in high-pressure environments that demand creativity, precision, and efficiency.
To deepen my expertise, I pursued and earned a Master’s Degree in Food Studies & Nutrition from Syracuse University. This combination of culinary and academic training allows me to approach food businesses with a comprehensive understanding of both flavor and function—balancing culinary integrity with operational success.
In 2018, I launched CJT Consulting LLC with a clear mission: to support food entrepreneurs in building successful, sustainable businesses. Since then, I’ve had the privilege of partnering with a wide range of organizations, including non-profits and business development centers throughout Upstate New York.
One of my proudest roles was serving as the lead food business consultant for the Salt City Market, a nationally recognized public market in Syracuse that champions diverse food entrepreneurs. Over the past seven years, CJT Consulting has also worked extensively with Minority and Women-Owned Business Enterprises (MWBEs), providing culturally responsive and equitable support to help clients thrive in competitive markets.
